Responsibilities
As a Food Service Worker, you will:
- Prepare, wash, peel, seed, and cut fruits and vegetables.
- Carry pans, trays, and food containers safely between workstations.
- Store food properly using wrapping, dating, rotation, and safety procedures.
- Set up food items for daily service and sales.
- Perform cleaning tasks such as waste disposal and sanitization.
- Distribute utensils and supplies.
- Follow approved recipes, portion control standards, and temperature guidelines.
- Notify cooks if food temperatures fall outside acceptable ranges.
- Serve customers efficiently and professionally.
- Resolve customer concerns and escalate issues where needed.
- Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and safety standards.
- Provide service across retail areas including cashiering and line serving.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, applicants should have:
- FoodSafe Level 1 Certification.
- Previous experience in food service environments such as healthcare, hotels, restaurants, or fast food (preferred).
- Physical capability to perform duties such as lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
- Familiarity with cash register operation (an asset).
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
