Responsibilities
- Assist with sample preparation, labelling, and logging according to standard procedures
- Conduct routine laboratory tests using equipment such as pH meters, balances, and spectrophotometers
- Adhere to ISO 17025 accreditation principles and all laboratory compliance standards
- Ensure all samples are processed and analysed within required holding times
- Maintain accuracy and meet client turnaround deadlines within a fast-paced work environment
- Support inventory checks and help restock laboratory supplies
- Follow safety protocols and consistently use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Perform general housekeeping and daily ad hoc lab tasks
Requirements
- Laboratory certificate or science-related qualification preferred
- Understanding of safety precautions when handling samples of unknown hazard
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to contribute to daily laboratory housekeeping
- Commitment to providing excellent client service
