Responsibilities
As a Cook, you will:
- Prepare special meals and substitute dishes as needed
- Regulate ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment to maintain proper temperatures
- Thaw frozen food items and ensure proper food storage
- Ensure portion control, presentation, and garnishes meet quality standards
- Maintain food preparation logs and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared
- Assist in delivering daily specials and inform the service team about menu changes
- Prepare food according to recipes, quality standards, and safety regulations
- Assist management with training, mentoring, and guiding kitchen staff
- Follow all safety and hygiene policies, report hazards or incidents, and obtain necessary certifications
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and adhere to confidentiality and asset protection policies
- Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors
Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates should have:
- A diploma or certification from a technical, vocational, or professional institution
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant culinary experience
- Ability to work full-time in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Flexibility to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, standing for long periods, and reaching overhead or below the knees
- No prior supervisory experience is required, but teamwork and collaboration are essential
