Marafiq is seeking a dedicated and experienced Field Operator to join their Power and Water Plant team in Wilayat Ad Duqm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for carrying out field operations safely and efficiently, ensuring the plant meets its contractual commitments. Responsibilities
As a Field Operator, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting Rounds
- Perform routine plant checks and monitor technical conditions of equipment.
- Taking Readings
- Collect daily readings from field instrumentation and compare with the DCS to assess plant conditions.
- Report Writing & Reporting Concerns:
- Log critical parameters, report discrepancies, unsafe acts, and environmental incidents.
- Safety Adherence
- Implement equipment isolations, LOTO devices, report incidents, and conduct safety walkdowns.
- Coordination & Efficient Interaction
- Operate gas turbines, HRSG, steam turbines, BOP, and RO water plant systems; liaise with maintenance teams and contractors.
- Handover to Next Shift
- Ensure smooth and timely shift handovers with all necessary reports and information.
- Providing Guidance & Assistance
- :Train and guide new joiners or trainees on operational duties.
- Housekeeping
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the plant area.
- Policies & Procedures
- Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
- Health, Safety & Quality
- Comply with all HSE regulations and maintain high-quality operational standards.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement.
Requirements
- Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Diploma (Mechanical, Electrical, Process) from a recognized university.
- Experience
- 3–5 years in a similar environment, preferably in Combined Cycle Power Plants and Reverse Osmosis Desalination operations.
- Language
- Proficiency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
- Technical Knowledge
- Strong operational, HSE, and technical skills relevant to power and water plants.
