Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain various types of heavy airfield equipment, including excavators, dozers, and backhoes, in line with company policies.
- Monitor and report the operational status, maintenance needs, and repairs of all airfield equipment.
- Supervise, coordinate, and inspect outsourced projects to ensure quality standards are met.
- Prepare daily and weekly management reports related to equipment operations and maintenance.
- Manage spare parts usage and replenishment at DIA and HIA following standard procedures.
- Maintain runway, taxiway, and apron markings without disrupting airport operations.
- Perform rubber removal activities to ensure runway friction levels meet safety standards.
- Coordinate runway closures, safety barriers, and markers with HIA Safety and relevant stakeholders.
- Update and monitor maintenance activities using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Inspect and record maintenance activities using the Mobile Airfield Lighting Maintenance Management System (MALMS).
- Coordinate with Air Traffic Control (ATC), Qatar Aviation Services (OAS), safety teams, and contractors for operational works.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to meet operational requirements.
- Conduct periodic inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of the Department.
Requirements
- High School qualification with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, OR
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 1 year of job-related experience.
- Prior experience in airport operations or heavy equipment handling is preferred.
- Knowledge of airfield safety standards and operational constraints.
Skills
- Strong ability to supervise in-house technicians and outsourced contractors.
- Effective workforce scheduling and personnel management skills.
- Proficiency in report writing and documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- High level of observation and attention to detail during inspections.
