Responsibilities
As a Mine Operator – Open Pit Driller, you will take on a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Operating top-hole hammer blasthole drill rigs or Sandvik D45KS rotary drills.
- Ensuring safe and efficient operation of all drilling equipment.
- Achieving production targets and meeting personal performance goals.
- Completing pre-start and post-operational checks on drill machinery.
- Communicating clearly with team members to maintain smooth daily operations.
Requirements
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet several key requirements:
- Hold immediate New Zealand working rights or a valid visa.
- Carry a full, clean, current driver’s licence and confidently operate manual vehicles.
- Communicate effectively in a team environment.
- Bring drilling experience (advantageous, but not essential).
- Show strong interest in heavy machinery and mining operations.
- Demonstrate a safety-first mindset and commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening.
